The fast moving mobile phone scene is abuzz with rumours about the new Nokia N96 potentially launching between end of July to early August. The reason behind the hype is the fact that the Nokia N96 offers many features not found in other gadgets which will sure to excite any lover of technology.
Like its predecessor the N95, the Nokia N96 is a two-way slider mobile phone. If you slide it one way you’ll see the usual keypad, and slide it the other side and you’ll discover a whole new media control panel. While it does not offer a screen as large as an Apple iPhone, the Nokia N96 commands its own presence with the larger-than-average 2.8” 320 x 240 display. Taking photos is a pleasure with the Nokia N96 as it comes with a 5.0MP camera equipped with auto focus, flash and Carl Zeiss lens. Improvements in image quality are immediately apparent especially when capturing VGA video at 30 fps. The camera also works well hand in hand with the GPS receiver whereby all images will be tagged with the location using said GPS system. This helps you to note where and when the photos were captured and you can even download mapping applications that reads the GPS location accurately.
The Nokia N96 also comes with a DVB-H digital TV receiver which automatically converts your Nokia N96 into a sort of handheld telly used to watch live broadcast TV shows provided that you enjoy suitable DVB-H coverage. Equipped with an astounding 16GB internal memory, you can even expand it up to 32GB with a microSD card. There’s also a clever stand attached to the Nokia N96 so that you can prop it up at a desired angle whenever you watch TV or view videos.
