Nokia N95 8GB Comes with Music Now On Three

After watching the overwhelming response to the Nokia N95, its makers decided to improve on the original best seller and bring out a much more precise, sexier and easy to use Nokia N95. Its out now on Three and is called the Nokia N95 8GB.

The phone that won so many hearts was now out, in a new and improved model. It was certainly a lot different with so many other mobile phones on the market, but what it was similar to them was that it too had some pros and some cons. Lets start with its features.

The Nokia N95 8GB is gifted with a larger screen as compared to its predecessors. The large screen obviously enhances the experience of surfing and using the handset, whether its listening to music, browsing the web, or opening files and documents in the Office pack. But with a larger screen, the navigation keys at the bottom have been shrivelled up. Though they aren't causing that much of a problem.

Now lets talk about the design. The design of the new N95 is something that did 50% of the job of winning the hearts. It comes in a stunningly sexy black case, which makes it so much more attractive. Thinking hypothetically, if the earlier version was available in the black case may be it would have done more business.

The camera slider is off now. Thats a good sign , considering the fact that often with the earlier version often the slider would accidentally activate the camera. The camera lenses are still the old Carl Zeiss and it remains a 5 Megapixel camera.

The s60 third edition operating system has become a little slow however. But the interface is much more precise, in the sense that all those functions and events that were not necessarily needed are out.
However the most significant change, that you woud actually draw from the name itself is the built in 8GB memory, excluding the system 100MB for phone book, messages, ringtones and other features. But the downfall of such an storage system is that there is no expandible slot and that it is not a removable media. To transfer data you need to use a data cable.

Also this phone comes with a amazing double slider system. That means that it has a slider at the back with multimedia buttons. Quite an innnovation, but again creating the problem of activating them by mistake if in a pocket.

The technical specifications include the following :

  • 3G HSDPA.
  • Wi-fi 802.11.
  • 1200 mAh Li-lon.
  • GPS
It also has the ability to operate in GPS 850, 900, 1800, 1900.

If compared to Apple iPhone , this is how the Nokia N95 8GB stands :
  • iPhone operates on the better MacOX operating system while N95 operates on the Sympian S60 3rd edition.
  • iPhone provides a 2MP camera resolution, while N95 provides a astounding 5MP.
  • iPhone uses Safari as web browser while N95 uses Nokia Web Browser with Mini Map. Safari being the better.
  • It displays HTML rich, IMAP, POP3, Push IMPAP for e-mail, while N95 uses only POP3,IMAP and SMTP.
  • iPhone is touchscreen enabled, N95 is not.
  • iPhone has a larger screen than N95.
  • iPhone doesn't support GPS.
  • And finally among the major differences iPhone doesn't have bluetooth A2DP.

HTC Touch HD on Orange

November 5, 2008 , witnessed the release of a phone that has set a whole new dimesion in itself. The HTC Touch HD was launched in Orange. The handset from HTC comes with a whole range of high-end technological specifications.

The HTC Touch HD has a large WVGA touchscreen of 3.8 inches, wondering how that would actually look, well to compare, its about a little larger than the Apple iPhone. The screen quality surpasses most smart phones in market, and only a hand counted few match upto it. The HTC Touch HD comes with GPS, an experience that is highlighted with the large WVGA screen.
The internet browsing experience is taken to a whole new level with this screen. Its 800 pixel screen covers most web pages without having to scroll them. A feature available with only a few other notable handsets in the market.
With most advanced technological and sets, either camera quality or the sound quality is compromised in order to maintain the high level of technological enhancements. But HTC Touch HD moves above that. Along with the wide screen, it comes with a 5 Megapixel Camera, that surely doesn't compromise with image quality. Not only that, Touch comes with another surprise in the package, it is a dual camera phone, and hosts another VGA camera.

Better take a look at this version, as HTC Mobile Phones are rumoured to bring in its 3G version very soon, called the Touch 3G. The handset also boast other features that are mainly available with other contemporary smart phones, such as:

  •        Wi-fi connectivity.
  •        Pocket Office.
  •        GPS Reciever.
  •        HSDPA.
  •        EDGE.
The handset is supported by Windows Mobile 6.1 Professionaland provides a smooth experience while handling, due to the HTC's TouchFlo 3D finger swipe navigation. Ceratinly proving itself to be a iPhone killer. The multimedia experience is supported by the diffrerent AAC, MP3, AMR and other significant Windows Multimedia suported formats. It also has handwriting recognition tools.

The phone comes with a in-built space of 512 MB,but obvoiusly can be extended with the extendible Micro-SD slot. For music lovers, if thats not enough then it also comes with FM Radio.

Now lets comes to the technical part. Its technical specifications include:

  •         528 MHz Qualcomm 7201A Processor.
  •         Micro SD/SDHC expansion slot.
  •         1350AH battery.
  •         The size spcifications are - 115 x 62.8 x 12mm.
All in a nutshell its a killer smart phone. Look out iphone! An incredibly efficient,  impressive phone from HTC. For deals visit HTC Touch deals.

The HTC Touch Diamond runs on Windows Mobile 6.1 but that’s not all. HTC came out with an improved TouchFlo system which is the TouchFlo 3D system that makes room for a highly advanced gesture control. Measuring 102mm x 51mm x 11.5mm and weighing just 110 grams, the HTC Touch Diamond resembles a slim bar of dark chocolate making the iPhone look rather unwieldy in comparison. While the iPhone’s 3.5” panel might prove to be excessive for some, the HTC Touch Diamond’s 2.8” screen is just the perfect size for everyone. Other features include USB 2.0 and Bluetooth connectivity as well as Advanced GPS system. It will be available here in the UK before being released in the US and Asia with Orange winning the contract to be one of the earliest adopters of the HTC Touch Diamond.

Nokia N78 release any day now

Nokia fans will remember Nokia N73 to be an outstanding mobile phone built ahead of its peers but as the saying goes, all good things must come to an end, and so will the N73’s reign in the mobile phone kingdom. Nokia has just released its latest N78, a replacement for the N73 and will be available any day now. Let’s take a look at this new gadget and see if it can indeed beat the old-but-gold Nokia N73.

Firstly, the Nokia N78 is a 3.5G mobile phone with HSPDA/WCDMA, EDGE, GPRS and Wi-Fi support. By now, Bluetooth 2.0 and USB 2.0 are common features in Nokia’s mid range mobile phones so expect to see these in the new Nokia N78. Like its predecessor, the Nokia N78 comes with a 3.2MP camera that sadly, was not upgraded to a 5.0MP affair, much to the disappointment of aspiring mobile phone shutterbugs. But what it does offer though is a Carl Zeiss lens, auto focus and LED flash that proves to be a tad brighter than the N73. The Nokia N78 also comes with a technologically advanced Symbian S60 operating system that’s not available in the N73. The Nokia N78 is also built to play and accommodate a host of multimedia clips such as MPEG-4, WMA, MP3 and AAC files. Videos are shot at a rate of 15 fps which is pretty substantial for a mid-to-high range mobile phone.

Lastly, Nokia has improved the keypad and incorporated a type of bar-like navigational display that never fails to light up when you’re using it.

Samsung G810 Available next week

When it comes to producing top notch mobile phones, very few brands can rival Nokia except for Samsung. Samsung has been steadily building their portfolio of mobile phones and their latest offering, the Samsung G810 is comparable to Nokia’s high end mobile phones, more specifically the N95.

It looks awfully like an N95 and works like one too, but the Samsung G810 has its own perks. For one, it’s slightly cheaper than Nokia’s N95. The Symbian smart phone comes with 5.0MP camera with built in Xenon flash and auto focus. While these features are not extraordinary in mobile phones these days, the 3 times optical zoom feature is sure to wow budding shutterbugs. To complement the video capture feature, Samsung has included a Youtube clip upload application together with the Samsung G810. No self-respecting smart phone can declare itself to be one unless it comes with GPS, and the Samsung G810 is no exception. There’s also geo tagging support for photographs whereby each image taken will be assigned its own location coordinates which will be saved in the metadata.

The Samsung G810 runs on a Symbian S60 OS which means there’s bigger capacity for future applications to be added. LG Mobile Phones

LG is a Korean electronics manufacturer that presently dominates the mobile phone arena with their brand of cutting edge yet competitively priced devices. LG is fast joining the ranks of established manufacturers like Nokia and Samsung. Gone are the days when only mobile phone aficionados turn to them for their gadget fix because now they can depend on LG’s range of innovative products to keep consumers satisfied.

By establishing their own brand of premium mobile phones, LG is fast becoming the talk of town with their Black Label, LG Chocolate and LG Shine series. LG even went as far as to tie in with Italian fashion icon PRADA in a bid to release the unparalleled PRADA mobile phone which features the world’s first touch screen mobile phone.

One of the most state-of-the-art mobile phone from LG is the LG KF600, a slider phone with dual-screen feature which lets users take advantage of the touch screen qualities from the secondary screen. Although this gadget can be likened to the Nintendo DS Nintendo’s wildly popular dual-screen handheld console, it was not made to be a gaming device. That said the LG KF600’s lower screen which was christened the InteractPad proves to be a handy feature and might be the reason behind this model winning an IF Product Design Award. Another great offering from LG is the LG KF750, another touch screen mobile phone but with superior features and a larger display panel. The LG KU990 Viewty also features a great touch screen but this mobile phone comes attached with a 5.1MP camera and a Schneider Kreuznach lens.

HTC Touch Diamond Release date announced

To counter the iPhone’s phenomenal success, mobile phone makers have been pushing their R&D departments to work overtime in order to create a device that will rival its popularity. Enter the HTC Touch Diamond, a smart phone that is comparable to Apple’s gem in terms of features and style. The HTC Touch Diamond’s outlook is a subjective matter but it cannot be denied that this gadget looks every bit as sleek and flawless as an iPhone.

HTC upped the ante by giving the HTC Touch Diamond a Windows Mobile 6.1 OS. They intend to push the limits and make the interface more pleasurable to use by introducing the TouchFlo 3D, a better system that its TouchFlo predecessor in terms of gesture control, task switching in a fully 3D environment as well as other technical and cosmetic enhancements. Unlike the iPhone, the HTC Touch Diamond as large but measuring 102mm x 51mm x 11.5mm in size and 110 grams in weight, it sure packs a punch. Again, it is a subjective matter as to whether mobile phone users would actually sacrifice display size in favour of a smaller compact smart phone. The display panel which is just 2.8” compared to the iPhone’s gargantuan 3.5” screen, might seem miniscule but it is not lacking in clarity at all. In keeping up with the iPhone craze around the world, HTC emulated a useful iPhone feature in which the HTC Touch Diamond’s interface can be switched between landscape and portrait orientations whenever you swivel the screen.

The phone will be released on the 2nd week of June 2008. Register your interest in the HTC Touch Diamond now!
